Job Description:
This role will lead the engineering process for CBE biomass systems, district heating schemes, and containerized heating solutions.
This role will develop internal standards according to the Canadian code in association with an electrical engineer.
This role will research, design, and develop biomass systems for heating and power generation.
This role will perform duties related to evaluating, installing, operating and maintaining biomass heating systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of biomass boilers, components and systems according to Provincial and Canadian codes.
- Plan and manage projects, prepare material cost and timing estimates and reports, and design specifications for bioenergy systems.
- Design bioenergy plants and containerized heating solutions using Autodesk 3D or similar, and develop a CBE standard.
- Provide BOMs (bill of materials) on a detailed level for the procurement department.
- Supervise and inspect the installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical systems at construction sites or industrial facilities.
- Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs, and provide guidance to maintenance crews.
- Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
- Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for (EPC) mechanical contractors.
- Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers, and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates.
- Carry out inspections after biomass plants have been commissioned and check whether there are any deviations from the Canadian Code.
- Stamp drawings, P&IDs, 3D Models and as-built drawings of bioenergy installations according to Canadian code.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Certified Mechanical Engineer
- 3-5 years experience in a lead role
- Decision-making power
- Design experience with process plants
- High willingness to travel

The Procurement Manager reports to the Project Manager. This role will be responsible for obtaining and delivery of the required project materials, consumables, and equipment as per specifications. This individual will ensure the best sourcing and purchasing practices, best price(s), facilitate on-time delivery and quality assurance.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and analyze the company’s procurement policies.
- Develop the requirements for product and service purchases for the company.
- Regularly update executives about the actions of the procurement department regularly.
- Create strategies for increasing supply chain efficiency.
- Make payments to vendors while maintaining the company’s/project budgets.
- Identify the procurement needs of the entire organization.
- Manage direct procurement processes, including the purchasing or obtaining raw materials, resources, goods, and services for manufactured goods.
- Manage indirect procurement, including the purchasing of goods, services, supplies, and materials needed for daily operations.

Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a similar role, involving (renewable) energy projects with a mechanical, electrical, and/or civil, structural scope.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related designation is preferred.
- Previous supervision experience is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of sourcing, procurement, and delivery processes.
- Proficient with MS 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Sage X3 is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Highly organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks.
- As work is in an international environment, fluency in both written and oral English and French is required.

Job Description:
Commercial Bioenergy Inc. (CBE) is currently hiring a Procurement Intern.
The Procurement Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Strategic Planner and Coordinator to assist in procurement management activities that improve the management of supplier data, assist with contractor management, and ensure policy compliance for all Commercial Bioenergy projects.
The Procurement Intern will work collaboratively with the Commercial Bioenergy team to support the various needs of the company, including, but not limited to: coordinating purchase orders, engaging with suppliers, supporting logistics and inventory activities, analyzing and reporting procurement data, and contributing to project documentation to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of materials and services aligned with organizational and client objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Order Support: Help create and track purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, and support the timely delivery of materials. Assist with basic cost tracking to meet project and client needs.
- Supplier Support: Maintain and update supplier information, help register new vendors, organize contact details, support communication with suppliers, and assist with tracking supplier performance.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Support: Assist the team in improving supply chain and logistics processes, help review logistics options, and coordinate with internal teams to keep activities aligned.
- Data, Research & Reporting: Collect and organize procurement Data, conduct basic research, prepare regular and as-needed reports, compare costs, and ensure data is accurate and organized according to the company guidelines.
- Project & Sales Support: Help maintain project files, attend and participate in project meetings, assist with preparing quotes, scope of work, and contracts, and support the creation of sales materials and client presentations.
- Inventory Control: Support tracking of inventory items, assist with inventory counts and reconciliation, and help maintain accurate inventory records to support project delivery and reporting.
Required Qualifications:
The candidate must be a recent graduate of a university or college, and newly entering the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or seeking to enter a new career field.
- Bilingualism in French and English is mandatory.
- A valid G license is required.
- Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
- Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Once hired, the candidate must reside in Timmins, where employed.
- Preference will be given to candidates with coursework in operations management, business administration, or project management.
